The use of this website can be associated with the processing of personal data. In order to ensure better understanding of this processing we would like to give you an overview of this processing with the following information. In order to guarantee a fair processing we would additionally like to inform you about your rights according to the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the German Federal Data Protection Act [Bundesdatenschutzgesetz – BDSG].

b. General details regarding data processing

Personal data may be processed when using this website. The term of «personal data» under data protection law describes all information, which relates to an identified or identifiable natural person. The IP address may therefore also be regarded as personal data. An IP address will be allocated to each device connected with the internet by the internet provider so that it can send and receive data.

We process personal data in compliance with the relevant data protection regulations, in particular the GDPR and the BDSG. We will only process personal data on a legal basis. We only process personal data with your consent (Art. 6 Para. 1 a) GDPR), to fulfil a contract, of which you are a contractual party, or following your request to carry out pre-contractual measures (Art. 6 Para. 1 b) GDPR), to fulfil a legal obligation (Art. 6 Para. 1 c) GDPR) or if the processing is necessary to safeguard our legitimate interests or the legitimate interests of a third party, insofar as your interests or fundamental rights and fundamental freedoms, which require the protection of personal data, do not outweigh (Art. 6 Para. 1 f) GDPR).

c. Duration of the storage
Insofar as not otherwise derived from the following notices, we only store the data for as long as it is necessary for the purposes for which the data are processed or for fulfilling our contractual or statutory obligations. Such statutory retention obligations may in particular arise from regulations under commercial or tax law. In this case we will block the data for other purposes.

d. Technical service providers

Insofar as not otherwise derived from the following notices the processing of the data is carried out on servers of technical service providers, which were commissioned by us for this purpose. These service providers shall only process the data according to an explicit instruction and are obligated to implement sufficient technical and organisational measures to ensure an appropriate level of protection. Consequently, our service providers shall operate for us as so-called data processors within the meaning of Art. 28 GDPR.

Please pay attention that we use the services of the provider Amazon Web Services, Inc., 2021 Seventh Ave, Seattle, Washington 98121, USA («Amazon») for hosting this website. The server location is Frankfurt am Main, Germany. Amazon is certified under the EU-US Privacy Shield and hereby offers an adequate level of data protection pursuant to Art. 45 GDPR: https://www.privacyshield.gov/participant?id=a2zt0000000TOWQAA4&status=Active.

e. Security
We take all necessary technical and organisational security measures in order to protect your personal data against loss and misuse. Your data are accordingly stored in a secure operating environment, which is not accessible to the public. In certain cases your personal data will be encrypted for the transmission by the so-called Secure Socket Layer technology (SSL). This means that the communication between your computer and our servers – e.g. with the transmission of an order including your company data – is carried out by using a recognised encryption method if your browser supports SSL.

2. Processing of server log files

With the use of our website for purely informative purposes first of all general information is stored automatically, which your browser transmits to our server or the Amazon-server. This includes as a standard: Browser type/version, used operating system, called site, the previously visited site (referrer URL), IP address, date and time of the server request and HTTP status code. This processing serves the technical management and the security of the website. The processing shall be carried out in order to safeguard our legitimate interests and is based on the legal basis of Art. 6 Para. 1 f) GDPR. The stored data will be erased unless there is a justified suspicion of illegal use based on concrete indications and a further examination and processing of the information is necessary for this reason.

3. Contact

If you send us a message per email we will exclusively use the data accordingly transmitted by you for processing your request. The legal basis for the data processing is Art. 6 Para. 1 b) GDPR.

4. Registration

A registration is necessary in order to receive access to our content offer pursuant to our General Business Terms and Conditions. For this purpose we process your business email address, which also serves as your user name, as well as a password chosen by you. It is necessary to provide these data in order to enable you to have access to our content offer. After registration you will receive an email from us with which you are requested to confirm your registration. The processing in this respect is based on the legal basis of Art. 6 Para. 1 b) GDPR.

5. Content orders

If you would like to order content pursuant to our General Business Terms and Conditions besides your business email address we will additionally require your name and your company or the body, for which you operate. These data are necessary in order to be able to make contents available to you and to clarify queries in connection with your order. We additionally need these data for the invoicing. You additionally have the possibility to enter your telephone number. Please note that we may contact you by telephone if a telephone number is provided in order to clarify queries in connection with your order. The data processing in this respect is based on the legal basis of Art. 6 Para. 1 b) GDPR.

6. Newsletter

On our website we offer you the possibility to register for our newsletter. After the registration we will inform you regularly about current offers, products, dates and job offers from the dpa Group. A valid email address is necessary for the registration for the newsletter. If you subscribe to the newsletter on our website, we process personal data, such as your email address and your name in order to dispatch the newsletter and, if applicable, the company in order to verify whether you act as an entrepreneur.. We additionally assess the reading behaviour and the opening rates of our newsletter. For this purpose we analyse how often the newsletter was opened and which articles were clicked. The legal basis for this processing is Art. 6 Para. 1 a) GDPR. You can revoke your consent at all times by unsubscribing from our newsletter. For this purpose you can use the unsubscribe link contained in each email or send us a message via the aforementioned contact channels.
In order to verify the email address you will initially receive a registry email, which you must confirm via a link (Double Opt-In). With the registration for the newsletter we furthermore store the IP address as well as the date and the time of the registration. The processing of these data is necessary in order to be able to prove a granted consent. The legal basis can be derived from our legal obligation to demonstrate that you have consentend (Art. 6 Para. 1 c) in conjunction with Art. 7 Para. 1 GDPR.

7. Cookies

We use cookies on our website. Cookies are small text files, which are stored by your browser when you visit a website. The used browser is marked hereby and can be recognised by our web server again. Insofar as personal data are processed by this use of cookies, this is based on the legal basis of Art. 6 Para. 1 f) GDPR. This processing serves our legitimate interest in making our website more user-friendly, more effective and more secure.

So-called «session cookies» will be deleted automatically after the end of your visit. Other cookies («persistent cookies») will be deleted automatically after a stipulated duration, which can differ depending on the cookie. You can delete the cookies in the security settings of your browser at all times. You can principally object to the use of cookies by your browser settings or for certain cases. 8. Google Analytics

We use the service Google Analytics of Google LLC (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA; «Google») for evaluating the visits to our website. Google uses cookies, which enable an analysis of your use of our website. The information generated by the cookie regarding the use of our website by the users will, as a rule, be transferred to a server of Google in the USA and stored there. Google will use this information at our order in order to evaluate the use of our website by the users, to compile reports on the activities within the website and in order to provide further services associated with the use of this website and the internet use towards us. We only use Google Analytics with activated IP anonymisation. This means that the IP address of the users will be abbreviated by Google within member states of the European Union or in other contracting states of the Treaty on the European Economic Area. The IP address transmitted by the user’s browser will not be aggregated with other data of Google.

The legal basis for the data processing in connection with the service of Google Analytics is Art. 6 Para. 1 f) GDPR and the processing serves the legitimate interest of the analysis of the user behaviour on our website and the design suitable for the needs that is made possible hereby.
You can prevent the storage of the cookies by a corresponding setting of your browser software. You can additionally prevent the entry of the information generated by the cookie by downloading and installing the browser plugin available under the following link: http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de. Insofar as you visit our website via a mobile terminal device you can deactivate Google Analytics by clicking on this link.

9. Integrated services and contents of third parties

We use services and contents made available by third parties on our website. A processing of your IP address is technically necessary for such an integration so that the contents can be sent to your browser. Your IP address will therefore be transmitted to the respective third party provider.

This data processing is respectively carried out in order to safeguard our legitimate interests in the optimisation and the cost-effective operation of our website and is based on the legal basis of Art. 6 Para. 1 f) GDPR.

As a rule the programming language JavaScript is used for integration of the contents. You can therefore, as a rule object to the data processing by deactivating the execution of JavaScript in your browser or by installing a JavaScript blocker. Please note that this may lead to function restrictions on the website.

For the presentation of fonts, we use the service «Google Fonts » of Google LLC (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA; «Google»). Google is certified under the EU-US Privacy Shield and hereby offers an adequate level of data protection pursuant to Art. 45 GDPR (https://www.privacyshield.gov/participant?id=a2zt000000001L5AAI&status=Active).

For the presentation of static and dynamic web contents we use the service «Amazon Cloudfront» of the aforementioned provider Amazon, which is certified under the EU-US Privacy Shield and hereby offers an adequate level of data protection pursuant to Art. 45 GDPR.

We have additionally integrated the registration form of our newsletter provider, Newsletter2Go GmbH, Köpenicker Str. 126, 10179 Berlin.

10. Google AdWords Conversion Tracking

We use the online advertising programme Google AdWords of Google LLC (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA; «Google»), via which we place advertisements on Google. If you reach our website via a Google advertisement Google will place a cookie on your device («conversion cookie»). Another conversion cookie is allocated to each AdWords customer hereby so that the cookies are not tracked via the websites of various AdWords customers. The information obtained with the help of the cookie serves to create conversion statistics. We thus find out the total number of users, who have clicked on one of our Google advertisements. However, we do not receive any information, with which users can be personally identified.

Insofar as personal data are processed hereby this is based on the legal basis of Art. 6 Para. 1 f) GDPR and the data processing serves our legitimate financial interest. You can object to the inclusion in the conversion tracking by preventing the setting of the cookies via your browser setting.

11. Your rights

As a data subject you have the right to assert your rights as a data subject against us. You in particular have the following rights:
• According to Art. 15 GDPR and Section 34 BDSG you have the right to request information regarding whether and, if applicable, to what extent we process personal data in relation to you or not.
• You have the right, according to Art. 16 GDPR, to request rectification of your data from us.
• You have the right, according to Art. 17 GDPR and Section 35 BDSG, to request erasure of your personal data from us.
• You have the right, according to Art. 18 GDPR, to have the processing of your personal data restricted.
• You have the right, according to Art. 20 GDPR, to receive the personal data concering you, which you provided to us, in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format, and to transmit these data to another data controller.

12. Right to object

According to Art. 21 GDPR you have the right to file an objection against all processing, which is based on the legal basis of Art. 6 Para. 1 e) or f) GDPR. Insofar as personal data with regard to you are processed by us for the purpose of direct marketing including profiling, you can file an objection against this processing pursuant to Art. 21 Para. 2 and Para. 3 GDPR.

13. Withdrawal of a consent

You can withdraw a given consent according to Art. 7 Para. 3 GDPR. The withdrawal of consent shall not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal. .

15. Complaint at a supervisory authority

If you are of the opinion that a processing of the personal data relating to you infringes the provisions of the GDPR you have the right to lodge a complaint at a supervisory authority according to Art. 77 GDPR.
