Finland will elect a new parliament on 2 April. It is an event far from its own borders that is likely to influence this vote: Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine has also raised concerns in the EU’s northernmost country. The parliament had voted by a large majority in favour of joining NATO. Polls show the opposition conservatives narrowly ahead of Marin’s Social Democrats.
